Documenting Ferguson is a digital collection of media contributed by community members following the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown by police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri, on August 9, 2014.

Multiple contributors shared original digital content, such as images, video, audio, and stories related to memorials, community meetings, rallies, and protests that occurred in Ferguson and throughout the broader region of St. Louis County and City.

Within this collection, users will encounter offensive or harmful language, images, and objects that reference race, gender, sexuality, and/or religion. These descriptions reflect language and concepts that were used by the people and organizations that created the material.
