- "This comparative book investigates how our physical and emotional perception creates both individual experiences and cultural responses. The collection of images and texts focus on the architecture of transformation as revealed through the cultural nuances I observed in the weathered buildings of Appalachian North Carolina and my interaction with the writings of Lewis Mumford. By framing such buildings as being in transformation, I aim at revealing that their apparent decay may suggest not only different responses and value systems ranging from abandonment to nostalgia, but also the discovery of new forms of representation"
