Know all men by these presents that we Eliza
Tindell___________ as principal and John
Cavender as security are held and firmly bound
in the just and full sum of two ___ Hundred
dollars, each, to the State of Missouri, the pay=
ment wereof well and truly to be made we bind
ourselves our heirs executors and administrators firmly
by these presents:
The Condition of this obligation is such that
whereas the said Eliza Tindell has this day
obtained from the Honorable the County Court of St
Louis County a License to reside and remain in the
State of Missouri as a free person of color under the
provisions of an act entitled "A Act to prevent
more effectually free persons of color from entering
into the State and for other purposes" Approved
February 23. 1843.
Now if the said Eliza Tindell shall be
of good behavior during the continuance of said
License then the above obligation is void otherwise
to remain in full force and virtue.
In Witness whereof we have hereunto set
our hands and seals at the city of Saint Louis
in the County of St Louis and State of Missouri
this sixth day of December AD 1845
