Description
-
In this typed letter [carbon] Swenson thanks Bishop for the Samba record that she sent to her. Swenson suggests that Bishop write articles about South American Jazz for The New Yorker or Esquire. She asks if Bishop if she has any pictures or articles from Lota's show at the Museum of Modern Art. Swenson tells Bishop that she wrote a poem (eventually published as "Dear Elizabeth") about some Bica Lacquas (birds) that Bishop described in a recent letter. She will send the poem to Bishop when it is finished. Swenson also mentions she has won a Ford grant for a theatre project.
