Draft pages toward the first of Swenson's 61 poems published in The New Yorker over the course of her career. Also includes a tear sheet of the poem as published, with "Snow" circled by Swenson. Editor Howard Moss accepted the poem on the condition he add that word to the title, as well as punctuation to the body of the poem.
Swenson would publish it with its original title and in its original form in her first collection, Another Animal, as well as in subsequent collections.
