Description
-
On the first pages of her earliest extant diary, Swenson muses on her mortality and records that she has written a poem, "In Jupiter Street," while in Ogden, Utah for a work trip. The poem would be published as "Jupiter Street" in 1952. She goes on to describe an evening at choral concert and socializing with her friend Gladys, who stayed over at her apartment but did not pick up on May's romantic intentions. She ends by admitting to inflating her ad sales to her bosses.
