Interviews
Gass is also known as a profound and witty interviewee. Major magazines and newspapers as well as scholarly journals devote pages to their conversations with him, including, in 2013, over 30,000 words in the presitgious literary journal-magazine hybrid, Tin House. Many of Gass's interviews are for European publications as Gass has a strong following in Germany, Italy, France, Spain and elsewhere.
As seen on this page, the Special Collections offer both published and unpublished versions of Gass interviews, as text and audio, from a variety of sources. For more interviews, see Fifty New Acquisitions--Audio.
