Description
Francis hosted a reception to celebrate both Prince Pu Lun’s visit, and the formal opening of the Chinese Pavilion, designed after the Prince’s country home in China. In honor of the occasion, Prince Pu Lun gifted the Official World’s Fair Band $100 to split among themselves, and offered $20 to the Jefferson Guards. The World’s Fair Bulletin wrote that his kindness was “an illustration of the liberal and handsome way in which members of theImperial Household of China do things.”
