The Changeling
The Changeling stands out among Williams' novels as the one that took a second (and third) edition decades later to receive the attention and respect it deserved. We have Williams' notes to the Guggenheim Fellowship which gave her the opportunity to write the book, the first edition dust jacket, the NY Times review that doomed it before it was even published, two items from its 30th anniversary edition, and the cover of its 40th anniversary edition.
