This project description, submitted to the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center Residency Program, is accompanied Mary Jo Bang’s sample translation of Dante. The Bellagio Center, located on Lake Como in Italy, is one of the world’s most prestigious international residencies. Bang held a residency there, using the time and support to advance her translation of The Divine Comedy.
