In the 2023 issue of the Italian journal Transoceanic (Un)Limited, two poems by Mary Jo Bang—“This Alleged Alchemy” (Questa presunta alchimia) and “Should We Ever Encounter Beauty” (Dovessimo mai incontrare la bellezza)—were translated into Italian by Luigi Ballerini, a prominent poet and translator. These poems reflect Bang’s continued engagement with transnational poetics and her deepening literary ties to Italy.
